I’m planning on getting the blog up to speed in a few days. This tour is almost in the bag and I want to tell you about it. But I’m sure by now you’re familiar with how often I do not update over here. I will get it done though. In the meantime I’m excited to show you this clip from the Department of Defense TV’s youtube channel talking to Brandon and I about the tour and a little bit about what we did with the Wounded Warrior Project this summer.

Ashley Mendel
Dear Friends,
I’m really excited to let everyone know about Ashley Mendel’s new release “Auto Reverse or Rewind”. To give you some back story, Ashley is one of my dearest friends and also the bass player for my solo group when I tour. He and I share a lot of similarities in the way we make music. Originally a drummer, like myself, he picked up guitar and bass and began down the path of creating music as his own self-contained band, learning to produce and engineer records along the way. He recorded his record at my place in Cali and really created something honest and beautiful all by himself. If you guys like my music then I want to give my strongest recommendation that you check out his stuff. He is one of the single biggest influences on my songwriting and how I approach harmony and chordal movement.
